Christian contentment is that sweet, inward, quiet, gracious frame of spirit, which freely submits to and delights in God’s wise and fatherly disposal in every condition.

I am greatly challanged by the quotes you post, but I would like to know more about the authors. Would it be possible to include a thumbnail sketch of who these guys were? For example, I have never heard of Jerimiah Burroughs; who was he? where and when did he minister? what is he remembered for?
Gary, thanks for your comment! I have just posted the first batch of Old Guy profiles that I hope you will find helpful! You can find them on the top menu on the home page.
This is an answer to prayer. I just asked the Lord in prayer a day or so ago, exactly what does it mean to be content. Does it mean that you do not desire earthly goods, and if so, how is a body to accomplish that in this world of advertising. Thank you for posting this it certainly answers the question.
